Taming that "crazy monkey mind" meditation and being grateful

Today's world, wow we have so much going on right? our daily lives are always full of busy, work, parenting, house work, shopping, cleaning, social media, and now on top of all this along comes Corona Virus.... We live in a world full of stress, anxiety and worry.... or do we need to? Just think for a moment about your life.... are you always complaining, talking about whats going "wrong" in your life, always annoyed that you haven't got X, Y and Z? Why do we need these materialistic things in our lives, do they really make us happy? Yes maybe momentarily; that takeaway, that cake, a new car, getting "likes" on a photo. Yes all these things are great.... momentarily. But real true greatness comes from the inside, from finding inner peace. Being happy with 'you' and who you are. So, what can you be grateful for right here, right now?? Struggling to think? there's so much even in a pandemic we can be grateful for, our health for a start, are you well today? if so be grateful. Do you have good finance? or enough to get you through? be grateful, even if its just for your last £10 note. Can you find that moment in your memories where you feel happy and joyful? yes? think about it, feel those feelings of those emotions you feel, and be grateful. These are some simple ideas of why you should be grateful today, and the more you work on your gratefulness the more appreciation you have for things you have and not focusing on what you don't have. Try it every day, ask yourself what can you be grateful for today? list 5 things and before you go to bed on an evening pick your best grateful moment, appreciate it and see how easy it becomes to train your mindset into positive thoughts about your life. * MEDITATION * As i said above in this post, we have so much going on in our lives, and our brains never stop thinking, they always have done and always will do, continuous thoughts that go around and around in our minds.... do you think you are able to deal effectively with situations, decisions, when your mind is a constant chatter? Meditation helps to quieten your mind, giving your mind a break, and then you are able to emerge with a clearer mind, more clarity, enabling you to make choices, decisions, direction. Not only does it help quieten your mind, giving you some "me time", oh no, it also has SOOOOO many health benefits, there has been so much research poured into meditation and the health benefits. The main one is that it starts to strengthen your vagus nerve, the longest nerve in your body, and helps to reduce your cortisol levels, which is your stress hormone. Oh yes, meditating frequently can reduce your stress, anger and anxiety! What's not to love about giving your mind and body and emotions this break they need!!! I offer Meditation classes, which are VIRTUAL via Zoom every Sunday morning 10:30am and Thursday evening at 6pm If you'd like to join us even if you've never tried meditation before, this is an ideal class to be involved in to learn the practice. Meditation can reduce stress & anxiety, increase calmness and clarity and promote happiness. Also, by slowing down your breath and shifting into a peaceful, connected state, you can more easily receive spiritual guidance; developing your intuition and connection with the Universe. *

I use different techniques in each session, offering tips, guidance and various styles of meditation.

* I start off with an energy re-balance routine, which promotes relaxation, and to re-balance your energy field, these techniques are part of the energy medicine practice.

* We then go into Zen meditation which is a form of Buddhist meditation, where we focus on the breath. This practice is to clear the mind, settling your "crazy monkey mind", bringing you peace, living in the present moment, taking away your worries and having this relaxation and "me time" that your mind really needs. It will also help you to emerge with renewed clarity and focus.

* The second half of the session is Visualisation guided mediation. I alternate these, it could be; chakra balance, taking you to your peaceful secret garden, working on opening your heart chakra, positive affirmations, building confidence, grounding, mantra.

* If you fancy giving it a go, just simply message me to book your place. Places are £2.50 or there's an option deal for £10 for x5 classes. I'd love to have you be a part of the class, and don't worry you don't need your camera on!
